An experience you’ll never forget
Most of us can’t really say we look forward to flying. Crying babies, cramped seats, broken inflight entertainment, and desperate measures to protect your knees from the dreaded frontal recliner.
Singapore Airlines offers something just a wee bit better than that. It’s an exclusive set of luxury amenities to provide “the distinguished few with their very own haven of tranquility.” Whether enjoying on-demand food from a private chef, reclining in a hand-stitched leather armchair, sleeping on an actual mattress in a doublebed, or enjoying a host of other baller items, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
A brave soul made the flight
Self-described “adventure traveler” Derek Low cashed what must have been a ludicrous amount of miles to pay for the $23,000 ticket(!!!) from Singapore to NYC. Luckily for us, he took pictures to document the entire process. He then experienced a feeling few of us can say we have: not wanting to get off a plane.
Forget the normal waiting area
No more searching for an outlet or a seat with the rest of the tired, huddled masses. Derek’s ticket got him access to “The Private Room,” where the staff greeted him by name.
There he enjoyed a three course meal which included lobster, quail eggs, and mutton satay
Upon boarding the plane, Derek was escorted to his private suite
He checked his surroundings, discovering a Salvator Ferragamo amenities kit (with full-size cologne!), Givenchy blankets and slippers, and Bose headphones. He was then poured a glass of Dom Perignon, as the double-decker plane gently took off.
Time for another meal
Caviar, lobster fennel salad, duck foie gras, vanilla bavarois and other fancy foods we’ve never heard
Quick nap? Let the flight attendants make your bed. Then it’s time for Bed Angels.
Bummed you just slept away thousands of dollars worth of flight? More food!
Derek’s used Singapore Airline’s “Book the Cook” service, which lets you pre-order any meal you can imagine. World-class chefs prepare it and it is put on the plane for you. Here Derek eats a variety of exotic meats and what appears to be a dessert made of flowers.
9 courses and five glasses of Dom later, you’ll never want to leave
Next time a baby vomits two rows up and you can’t fit your carry-on under the seat, start saving up for this Singapore Airlines ultra-exclusive experience.
